Recanati-Kaplan Talks
An evening with Ray Romano: Somewhere in Queens
with MTV News’ Josh Horowitz
New York native Ray Romano’s career in stand-up comedy led to his hit CBS series Everybody Loves Raymond. His film roles include the Oscar-nominated The Big Sick, Bad Education, with Hugh Jackman, Paddleton, with Mark Duplass, and Martin Scorsese’s Oscar-nominated The Irishman, with Robert De Niro and Al Pacino. Romano makes his directorial debut in the comedy drama Somewhere In Queens. Opening in theaters this month, it’s a story partially inspired by Romano’s own family: a father who lives vicariously through his son’s high-school basketball career. “Smart writing and a superb cast” said The Hollywood Reporter. “An affectionate love letter to Italian American families,” said Variety. Watch the trailer — and join Romano and MTV News’ Josh Horowitz for an evening of clips from the film and conversation about the movie, his life, and his career.
