Moderator Annette Insdorf interviews Ralph Fiennes about The White Crow.
His film roles include Schindler’s List, The Quiz Show, The English Patient, The End of the Affair, The Constant Gardener, The White Countess, The Reader, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter films. Fiennes also directed—and acted in—Coriolanus as well as The Invisible Woman (playing Charles Dickens).
The White Crow, which he directed from a script by David Hare, is a biographical drama about the brilliant dancer Rudolf Nureyev’s defection to the West in 1961. Fiennes also co-stars as his ballet teacher Pushkin, while Oleg Ivenko is a discovery as the temperamental Russian performer.
