Meredith Scardino is the creator of the upcoming Peacock original series Girls5eva, a new comedy about a girl-group from the late 90s whose members reunite in 2021 to give their dreams another shot. The series stars Sara Bareilles, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Busy Phillips, and Paula Pell. It is executive produced by Scardino along with Tina Fey, Robert Carlock, Jeff Richmond, Eric Gurian, and David Miner.

Prior to Girls5eva, Scardino served as a co-executive producer and writer on Fey and Carlock’s new series for NBC, Mr. Mayor starring Ted Danson. In 2020, she executive produced and wrote on the Netflix interactive special, Kimmy vs. the Reverend, the final installment in Fey and Carlock’s Emmy-nominated series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Scardino worked as a writer/producer on all four seasons of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and her work includes penning Party Monster: Scratching the Surface, the critically-acclaimed standalone documentary episode about one DJ’s quest to prove the innocence of Kimmy’s abductor, Reverend Richard Wayne Gary Wayne.

Scardino got her start in TV in late night, spending six years writing on The Colbert Report, where she won four Emmys, four Writers Guild Awards, and a Peabody. She has also written for Saturday Night Live, At Home with Amy Sedaris, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The 72nd Golden Globe Awards, and The Late Show with David Letterman. She began her career in entertainment working as a cartoonist and animator, making shorts for Comedy Central. She lives in New York City with her partner, young son, and loyal hound.

In 2019, Sara released her fifth full-length album entitled Amidst The Chaos. For this body of work, she joined forces in the studio with legendary Academy® Award-winning producer T Bone Burnett. The album spotlights her voice as a singer and storyteller like never before, making an enduring statement that reveals her as a true legacy artist. Always looking to try something new, Sara teamed up with her writing and producing partner, Jessie Nelson, J.J. Abrams and Apple, and executive produced Little Voice: a 10-episode musical drama series featuring her original music. In September, 2020, Sara released More Love – Songs From Little Voice Season One, which features her personally performed and recorded versions of the ten songs from the series. Most recently, Sara wrapped filming a brand new Tina Fey scripted musical-comedy series for Peacock called Girls5eva. Her brand new record, Amidst the Chaos: Live from the Hollywood Bowl, was released in May of 2021.
