Paul Rieckhoff: We Need More Than Yellow Bumper Stickers

Jul 23, 2012

With the economy at the forefront of most American minds, our war veterans are sometimes overlooked. Founder of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, Paul Rieckhoff, has taken his fight from the battlefields of Iraq to the halls of Congress, advocating for his fellow veterans who are facing a variety of challenges upon their return from war. Rieckhoff cites the 17 percent veteran’s unemployment rate as “outrageous,” explaining how veterans have tremendous characteristics to offer American businesses, including: leadership, duty, respect, honor, integrity and courage. Paul calls on Congress to enact policy to help America’s veterans, saying “we need more than yellow magnetic bumper stickers.”
