Dr. Donald Berwick and Paul O'Neill: 300 Million Medication Errors a Year

Mar 14, 2012

The Supreme Court will soon hear arguments about the constitutionality of President Obama’s health care bill. But regardless of how the Court rules on the bill, the American health care system will – and has to – change over the next five years. How? Gazing into the crystal ball are Donald Berwick, the chief administrator for Medicaid and Medicare and Paul O’Neill, a former Treasury secretary and co-founder of the Pittsburgh Regional Health Initiative. Donald Berwick served as President Obama’s chief administrator of the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services until December 2011. Paul O'Neill served as Secretary of the Treasury for part of President George W. Bush's first term.
