National Arts in Education Week Kick Off

Kicking off National Arts in Education Week, 92Y teams with Americans for the Arts to present a launch event featuring artists, educators, policy makers and students.

This afternoon of performance, a panel discussion and keynote address celebrates the transformative power of the arts and sparks a conversation among artists, educators, arts administrators and elected officials across the country.

Featuring: Robert L. Lynch, Americans for the Arts’ President and CEO (keynote and panel moderator) Henry Timms, 92Y Executive Director Coco Killingsworth, Vice President of Education and Community Engagement at Brooklyn Academy of Music Kevin Coval, Poet, activist and educator Jecorey “1200” Arthur, Hip-hop artist & educator Rebecca Dhala, 92Y Teen Producer alumna and recent high school graduate Paul King, Executive Director of NYC Department of Education's Office of Arts & Special Projects Floyd W. Green III, Vice President & Head of Community Relations & Urban Marketing at Aetna, Inc.

With a 9/11 Tribute Performance: Erin Wong, cello Carl Belizaire, flex dancer

Featuring original choreography set to J.S. Bach’s Cello Suite No.1 in G major, BWV 1007: Prelude.
