My Italian Secret: The Forgotten Heroes

Would you risk your life to save a stranger? My Italian Secret is the untold saga of Italians like Gino Bartali (voiced by Oscar-nominated actor Robert Loggia), the charismatic Italian cycling hero who risked his life over and over to save innocent lives. It is based on the book It Happened in Italy: Untold Stories of How the People of Italy Defied the Horrors of the Holocaust.

After a screening at 92Y, survivors from Italy relayed their own experiences in a conversation moderated by Joy Behar. Elizabeth Bettina, author of the book, is also on the panel.

In attendance were family members of those who survived, living examples of the Talmud, "He who saves one life saves them all."
