Maggie Haberman: Five Political Flash Points For 2013

Jan 18, 2013

POLITICO senior political writer, Maggie Haberman, recently shared with us what she thinks will be the five political flash points in 2013.

The list includes immigration reform, gun control legislation, action on climate change and a debt deal.

Haberman thinks the unexpected might come from the nomination of former Senator Chuck Hagel for Defense Secretary:

"I think Chuck Hagel is going to be pressured to make a more specific statement about where he stands...not just on the war in Afghanistan but also in terms of Israel and Iran."

92nd Street Y's Campaign for the American Conversation is partnering with POLITICO to bring you "Political Speak," a series of compelling videos with POLITICO's renowned editors and correspondents analyzing the major political topics that define our time.
