Leon Panetta in Conversation with Andrea Mitchell

Oct 7, 2014

As director of the CIA, Leon Panetta led the intelligence war that killed Osama Bin Laden. He then became US secretary of defense during two troubled wars. This was after “retiring” from his role as Bill Clinton’s budget czar and White House chief of staff to set up the Panetta Institute. Leon Panetta has had not one, but two of arguably the most consequential careers of any American public servant. “I have seen Washington at its best and at its worst,” Leon Panetta told the press when his new memoir, Worthy Fights, was announced. “My goal is to give readers the opportunity to go behind the scenes and learn how our democracy works, and how sometimes it fails to work.” A not-to-be-missed opportunity to hear the inside story of this great leader’s legendary career.
