Legends of Music: Gloria Gaynor with Valerie Smaldone

Jul 7, 2014

With chart-topping hits like the iconic song “I Will Survive,” Gloria Gaynor has made people dance all over the world.

The first queen of disco joins 5-time Billboard Magazine Award winner Valerie Smaldone to look back over the 35 years since that track, and to talk about the struggles and achievements of her own life. She recounts the experiences of people from all walks of life—from a Holocaust survivor to an Oklahoma bombing rescuer to a 9/11 mother—as told in her new book and CD, We Will Survive: True Stories of Encouragement, Inspiration and the Power of Song.
