Join acclaimed playwright, filmmaker and author LaDarrion Williams on his gripping debut fantasy novel, Blood at the Root.

Following a teenager on the run from his past who finds the community he never knew he needed at an school for the young, Black, and magical, Blood at the Root is a fantasy debut like none other. Williams, frustrated by the lack of Black magical stories on film and television, set out to write a new kind of fantasy story — reimagining a Hogwarts-like setting as a richly-imagined HBCU.
