Journalism Old and New: A Panel Discussion
Radio talk show host Leonard Lopate moderates a discussion with Jeffery Toobin, author and staff writer for The New Yorker, and Marvin Kalb, correspondent for CBS News and NBC News. Toobin and Kalb discuss their careers in journalism as well as how journalism has changed over time. The panelists also talk about the differences between journalism in magazines versus newspapers, the highly competitive nature of story publication, and the distrust that the public has towards the press. The discussion is followed by questions from the audience.
