Jörg Widmann On Composing Music

Apr 10, 2013

Most musicians make a career playing just one instrument, but Jörg Widmann is making his reputation as a virtuoso clarinetist AND a composer. Mr. Widmann is the featured guest artist and composer on three nights of chamber music at 92Y with his friends Christian Tetzlaff, Tanja Tetzlaff, Alexander Lonquich and Cristina Barbuti. The repertoire represents Mr. Widmann's wide range of interests and influences, from Mozart to Bartok and Messiaen, and of course, his own compositions.

In this clip, Jörg Widmann talks about his compositional process and answers the question, "How would you describe your music?"
