“A universal collaborator ... dedicated to making a difference on and off stage.” — Awards in the Arts

Jecorey "1200" Arthur (b. May 19, 1992) is an award-winning educator, composer, performer and activist from Louisville KY. After falling in love with hip hop, Arthur purchased a KORG D-1200 recording studio at age twelve and became a self-taught producer. He found his passion for classical music while studying percussion with Dr. Greg Byrne at the University of Louisville, where he earned his BME and MAT. His performances range from rap concerts to collaborations with the Louisville Orchestra, Indianapolis Symphony and Pittsburgh Symphony. As Director of Programming for City Collaborative, an urban research and innovation nonprofit, Arthur dedicates his work to community. He is the Music Specialist at Hite Elementary where he teaches general music and directs performance ensembles. Through the 1200 TOUR, he encourages creativity in the arts by providing multidisciplinary education workshops.
