The series, in which Konkle portrays a fictionalized version of her 13-year old self in the year 2000, was released by Hulu in February 2019. Following the success of season one, the show was renewed for a second season and Konkle, along with her co-star and co-creator Maya Erskine, was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series. The series won the 2019 Gotham Award for Breakthrough Series – Shortform and received several Writers Guild of America Award nominations for New Series and Comedy Series.

In 2018, Konkle starred in the Kendall Goldberg indie feature When Jeff Tried to Save the World alongside Jon Heder.
