Guiding Patients with Cancer on the Path to Survivorship through Comprehensive Cancer Care

Catherine Alfano, PhD; Christine Mullin, MD, FACOG; Patrick Martone, DO; and Robert S. Copeland-Halperin, MD, FACC

Aug 16, 2022

Perhaps the most important concern for patients diagnosed with cancer is survival — that is, overcoming the cancer and going on to live a life free of disease and the complications associated with it. The best chance for long-term survival begins at the time of diagnosis and continues through follow-up to manage any health problems the patient may have. This can include other conditions like diabetes and health disease as well as the many symptoms caused by the cancer itself and the treatments. These problems may include fatigue, infertility, nerve damage and more. The concept of comprehensive cancer care brings together not only the best in chemotherapeutic and other treatment options but also access to timely referrals to other specialists and programs to meet all the health needs of these patients. Join us for a panel discussion that will provide an overview of the comprehensive cancer care team and the specialists who help patients thrive throughout their cancer care and beyond.
