Robin Roberts talks with George Stephanopoulos about her decision to go public with her breast cancer diagnosis.

"I had no desire whatsoever to go public with it," she told Stephanopoulos, "because I had no idea what the outcome would be. And...it's so incredibly personal." But then she realized, as her mom used to say, 'make your mess your message.' "I have a great job, I have colleagues, I have people at home, I have family, friends, faith, all these things that are gonna help me get through it. And not everyone facing a challenge like I was facing has that; so be their voice, which is what I attempted to do. "
