The Genius Podcast: Kobie Boykins on the Genius of the Mars Rovers

Mar 5, 2015

As part of our 7 Days of Genius, 92Y is launching the Genius podcast, conversations with a diverse group of thinkers on the topic of genius – what it is and how it shapes our world.

In this episode, 92Y producer Julie Mashack speaks with NASA engineer Kobie Boykins about the genius of the Mars Rovers and the future of space exploration.  Where is NASA headed next? Will we one day be able to take pictures of another Earth orbiting another sun?  Tune in and find out.

Kobie Boykins is an engineer at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where he is on the front line of Mars exploration. He engineered keys components of the Spirit, Opportunity and Curiosity Rovers. He will speak at NYU’s Skiball Center for The Performing Arts on May 6, 2015 as part of National Geographic Live’s series.
