The Genius of Confucius

Mar 3, 2015

Confucius, China’s greatest philosopher, possessed a special kind of genius—an ability to forever alter the way we understand the world and ourselves.

Born in the sixth century BC into a China ravaged by war, Confucius developed a doctrine of peace that shaped an entire civilization. Powerful and universal, yet engagingly simple, his ideas have endured centuries of political upheaval, economic transformation and foreign intrusions to influence the daily lives of nearly a quarter of humanity today. The genius of Confucius can be found in how he perceived the true nature of mankind and discovered ideals that hold as much meaning in modern times as they did 2,500 years ago.
