Brian Williams on Covering Crisis, Advice For His TV Star Daughter

Feb 27, 2013

NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams spoke about his career with Chairman of Loews Hotel Jonathan Tisch on February 27, 2013. Among many topics, Williams talked about covering Hurricane Katrina:

"Katrina offended me. It meant that every president from Lyndon Johnson on had either lied to me or had been betrayed by public policy."
He continued, "Katrina was a terrible failure...almost a human rights failure."

The conversation became lighter as Williams joked about giving his daughter and HBO's Girls star, Allison Williams, advice:

"She got through Yale. I have 18 credits. I think I could actually do harm to a perfectly good career at this point."
