The Big Sick: Creators & Cast in Conversation

Nov 30, 2017

Presented by The Hollywood Reporter TV Talks and 92Y, featuring Kumail Nanjiani, Emily Gordon, Zoe Kazan, and Ray Romano with Tatiana Siegel, moderator

The Big Sick is the surprise romantic comedy smash of the year — and its co-writers and producers, the real-life couple Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon, are here to share how they brought their story to the big screen.

The film follows Kumail (playing himself), who comes from a traditional Muslim family, and Emily (Zoe Kazan), your average American, who meet and fall in love and must deal with culture clash — until Emily contracts a mysterious illness, complicating things even further. Hear from the creators and cast of The Big Sick on what it took to turn a true tale of love, identity and sickness into one of the most acclaimed movies of the year.
