Niv Sultan (Tamar Rabinyan) is an Israeli actress who graduated from the prestigious Yoram Loewenstein Acting and Performing Arts Studio where she specialized in song and dance. For her starring role in Tehran, Niv learned to speak Farsi with no previous background in the language.

Niv has participated in a variety of television series and films in Israel including Wild Horses, La Familia, Dead for a Moment, Summer Vacation Diaries and others. She held the lead roles in the Israeli television series, Eilat, produced by Hot Studios, and her first professional job, She Has It” is where she met Tehran co-creator Dana Eden.

Niv also held the lead role in the film, Almost Famous, by United King Films. Additional films include The Prom, an award-winning Israeli film by directors Tal Granit and Sharon Maimon. The film was nominated for the official competition at the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival in 2019 and led the list of nominees at the 2018 Ophir Awards with 12 nominations, of which it won three awards.

She was born in Jerusalem and is the second of four children (two sisters and a brother) and moved to Tel Aviv after high school to pursue acting.

Shaun Toub (Faraz Kamali) was born in Tehran, Iran, to a Persian-Jewish family. He was raised in Manchester, England.

Toub has received accolades for several of his appearances in more than 100 television episodes including Seinfeld, The Sopranos, Castle, NCIS, Chuck, Lost, Charmed, ER, Just Shoot Me, JAG, Married with Children and as Majid Javadi in Homeland.

His filmography includes his memorable performance in Bad Boys, Broken Arrow, The Kite Runner, Charlie Wilson's War, Iron Man, Iron Man 3, The Last Airbender, War Dogs, Papa Hemingway in Cuba and the Oscar-winning film, Crash.

Shervin Alenabi (Milad Kahani) is an Iranian-born British actor. He immigrated to the UK in 2007 with his family. He has played starring roles in international co-productions such as Baghdad in my Shadow, for which he learned to speak Arabic and went on to receive positive reviews from critics. He can also be seen in the Sky/HBO production Gangs of London, and in the ongoing series Le Bureau des Legendes. He currently resides in London.

Daniel Syrkin (Director, Co-creator) is an acclaimed Israeli film and television director who has worked across all genres and formats, from scripted TV series to features, as well as documentaries.

Born in Moscow in 1971, his family moved to Israel in 1972 and settled in Jerusalem. Syrkin was an officer in the IDF, serving seven years before being discharged as Major.

He is a graduate of the Steve Tisch School of Film and Television at Tel Aviv University and has received numerous international awards. He is the winner of Best Director at the Israeli Academy Awards and seven Israeli Academy of Television Awards for best director or best series. Syrkin is also the creative force behind such successful television projects as Mossad 101, The Gordin Cell and Out of Sight.

Jessica Shaw hosts EW Live, a daily show about pop culture, on SiriusXM Stars channel 109. She thought she watched a lot of TV before the global pandemic, but she since learned how many more viewing hours can be squeezed in when not getting out of pajamas or leaving home. She is grateful for the escape of shows like Tehran that allow all of us to get lost into another world at least for a few hours.
