Anna Mueller and Seth Abrutyn in Conversation with Malcolm Gladwell: Life Under Pressure

May 6, 2024

Join suicide prevention experts and authors Anna Mueller and Seth Abrutyn with New York Times-bestselling author Malcolm Gladwell for a vital conversation on contemporary adolescence, mental health, and how to prevent teen suicide in our communities. In their new book Life under Pressure: The Social Roots of Youth Suicide and What to Do About Them, Mueller and Abrutyn investigate the social roots of youth suicide and why certain places weather disproportionate incidents of adolescent suicide clusters. With great empathy and expert research, they show us how we can chart a new path forward in youth mental health. On the occasion of Mental Health Awareness Month, hear them talk to Gladwell about what they’ve learned about youth suicidality, how adults can help troubled teens seek help — offering tangible solutions to one of our most tragic public health problems — and much more.
