Dr. Margot Krebs speaks with American author Ann Birstein about her autobiography, What I Saw at the Fair (2003). This event is part of the Jewish Literary Exchange discussion series. Ann Birstein is the daughter of Rabbi Bernard Birstein, known as “the Rabbi to the stars on Broadway.” In conversation with Dr. Krebs, she comments on the content of the book, including her experience growing up in a large family, her time at Queen’s College, her sexual experiences, her 30-year marriage to literary critic Alfred Kazin, and her encounters with the American literary elite. The discussion is followed with questions from the audience.
