American Masters Mel Brooks: Make A Noise

May 15, 2013

American Masters Mel Brooks: Make A Noise with Mel Brooks (via Skype), Susan Stroman, Robert Trachtenberg and Joy Behar.

As the 2000 Year Old Man says, "Tragedy is when I cut my finger. Comedy is when you fall into an open sewer and die." And who knows comedy better than his creator, Mel Brooks. Brooks has never participated in a film biography before, but he agreed to do it for the PBS show "American Masters." 92Y presented the first New York screening of this new documentary and, to celebrate, we also invited Joy Behar, here in New York, to interview Mel Brooks (by satellite -- he was in Los Angeles). Joining the conversation in New York was Susan Stroman, director of the hit Broadway musical of The Producers and Robert Trachtenberg, the director of the PBS biography. Read more about the evening on the Skype blog.
