Feb 13, 2024

Join Spark Your Health for an entertaining and informative conversation advocating for a deepened understanding of women’s health in the medical field, led by medical oncologist and author, Elizabeth Comen, and joined by national TV on-air host, Gigi Stone Woods.

Dr. Elizabeth Comen discusses in her newest book, All In Her Head: The Truth and Lies Early Medicine Taught Us About Women’s Bodies and Why It Matters Today, the groundbreaking medical history of women’s bodies and opens the door for a new conversation around women’s health. This talk will bring you on a journey from the medical history of women’s health and how women’s bodies and ailments have often been misunderstood, researched incorrectly, and then misrepresented and treated. But we can be empowered and advocate in the doctor’s office and beyond – and Dr. Comen and Gigi Stone Woods will guide us through what is positively changing in the medical field in regards to women’s health, and where advocacy is still greatly needed. With a physician’s knowledge and empathy, Dr. Comen follows the road map of the eleven organ systems to share unique and untold stories, drawing upon medical texts and journals, interviews with expert physicians, as well as her own experience treating thousands of women. We hope you will join us for an eye-opening discussion which is sure to pave the way for an inspired outlook on where women’s health has come from and where we are headed with the right research and empowerment. This talk is sure to fire you up to stand up for the research that you have read and understand, where you differ in opinion with your own medical team, and how women can collectively pull together to create dynamic changes in treatment and access to information in regards to our bodies and well-being.
