A Menorah Lighting for the World: A 92Y and Minsk Community Program
We invite you to join 92Y as we cross international waters to join the Religious Union for Progressive Judaism in Minsk for a virtual Chanukah program. Live in Minsk, members of the Jewish community, including a Holocaust survivor, will light a potato menorah― in memory of how Jews lit the Chanukah lights during the Holocaust. The program will also feature our very own Rabbis, Rabbi Peter Rubinstein and Rabbi Samantha Frank as well as Minsk Rabbi Grigory Abramovich, Father Brian E. McWeeney, Ambassador Alon Shoham of the Israeli Embassy in Belarus, and Ambassador Alex Goldman-Shaiman of the Israeli Embassy in Belarus. All are welcome to this Chanukah celebration full of connection, meaning, and song.
