IFC’s Rare Objects: Screening and Conversation

Katie Holmes, Derek Luke, Julia Mayorga, David Alexander Flinn, Production Designer Michael Fitzgerald and Producer Phaedon Papadopoulos in Conversation with Broadway News’ Ruthie Fierberg

Apr 11, 2023

Join acclaimed actress, producer, writer, and director Katie Holmes for an advance screening of her new film, Rare Objects, followed by a conversation with cast members Derek Luke, Julia Mayorga and David Alexander Flinn, production designer Michael Fitzgerald and Producer Phaedon Papadopoulos. Serving as both director and co-star, Holmes brings powerful emotional gravity to Rare Objects — a poignant story about the friendship between two women (Holmes and Mayorga) starting over in New York City while working for a rare art collector (Alan Cumming), based on the acclaimed novel by Kathleen Tessaro. Hear Holmes and the makers of the film describe its genesis — Holmes’ instant connection with Tessaro’s writing, the development of the characters, stories from behind the scenes, and more before it’s in theaters on April 14 from IFC Films.
