Before NBC airs the finale of Will & Grace, one of the most beloved comedy series of all time, join Emmy and SAG-Award winning actor Eric McCormack live online for an intimate, up-close conversation exclusively for 92Y. In conversation Eric will reflect on his favorite and most memorable moments from the show, the stars he’s worked with, the impact of the show on the television and cultural landscape, what this evening means to him, and what the future has in store.

Eric McCormack

Eric McCormack is known for his role as Will Truman on NBC’s Emmy Award-winning comedy Will & Grace, which earned him a Screen Actors Guild Award in 2002, five Golden Globe Award nominations from 2000 to 2004, and the Emmy Award for Lead Actor in a Comedy Series in 2001. A decade after the show’s eight-season run, NBC revived Will & Grace, where he subsequently received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Television Series Musical or Comedy. McCormack most recently starred in, produced, and directed Netflix’s Travelers. His other television credits include the Netflix series Atypical; director, producer, and star of TNT drama, Perception; producer on Lovespring International for Lifetime; and the TNT pilot Imperfect Union. His film work includes Alien Trespass, Free Enterprise, My One and Only, The Sisters, Barricade and Knife Fight. McCormack was born in Toronto and spent his twenties performing in theatres across Canada, eventually making his way to Broadway starring in The Music Man, Neil LaBute’s Some Girl(s), and in the Tony-nominated Gore Vidal’s The Best Man.

In June 2019, JD was named Editor-in-Chief of EW, the world’s leading media brand covering entertainment and the business of popular culture. As EIC, he has repositioned EW as the voice of the new golden age of showbusiness across all platforms, with a deluxe monthly magazine, a news driven website and growing extensions in social media, audio, television and events.

Prior to joining EW, JD was Deputy Editor of PEOPLE, where he led the integration of the brand’s entertainment content across print, digital and video platforms. In his role, he restructured the showbusiness team, making it a cutting-edge force in reporting and editorial-business collaboration, built keystone partnerships with the entertainment industry and spearheaded the creation of on-site activations at major film festivals.

JD has frequently been featured on camera, serving as an entertainment expert on various broadcast programs and hosting live red carpet shows for PeopleTV.

JD serves on the board of City Year LA, an organization committed to educational equity for at-risk students, a cause he is passionate about. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife Abby and their children Ned and Delia.
