Robin Thede is the creator, executive producer, showrunner, writer and star of the sketch series A Black Lady Sketch Show (HBO). Previously, she created, executive produced and hosted the critically acclaimed late night show, The Rundown with Robin Thede (BET). She was the head writer and a correspondent for The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore (Comedy Central) and head writer for the 2016 White House Correspondents Dinner, making her the first African-American woman head writer in late night and for the WHCD. She has appeared in dozens of TV shows and movies, including Difficult People, Key & Peele, A Haunted House, Goodwin Games and the upcoming thriller feature, Bad Hair, from director/writer Justin Simien.

Lauren is the Head Writer and Co-Executive Producer of HBO’s Emmy-nominated comedy series, A Black Lady Sketch Show. Previously, Lauren was the Head Writer of the critically acclaimed late night show, The Rundown with Robin Thede. Lauren is currently developing a pilot with ABC and her other writing and producing credits include Best Week Ever, Fashion Queens, and Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

Ashley Nicole Black is a writer and core cast member on HBO’s A Black Lady Sketch Show. She’s formerly a senior writer and correspondent on Full Frontal with Samantha Bee. In 2017, she won an Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special for Full Frontal With Samantha Bee Presents Not The White House Correspondents’ Dinner. She started her comedy career at The Second City after dropping out of a PhD program.

Gabrielle Dennis is a multi-hyphenate best known for her work in television as an actress. Her most recent roles are as Dr. Tilda Johnson AKA Nightshade in season 2 of Marvel’s Luke Cage (Netflix) and as the iconic Whitney Houston in the BET miniseries The Bobby Brown Story. Some of Gabrielle’s other TV credits include a leading role on Fox’s Rosewood and recurring roles on HBO’s Insecure and CBS’s Swat. In addition to acting, her background includes stand up comedy, dance, and singing/songwriting. Gabrielle’s singing can be heard on several songs from the Rosewood series and it’s award winning soundtrack as well as on a song she wrote called “Family First” for the series finale of Luke Cage and its accompanying soundtrack. Gabrielle can next be seen as one of the leading ladies in the upcoming HBO/Issa Rae sketch series A Black Lady Sketch Show.
