In this episode of 92NY Talks, we commemorate The 92nd Street Y's 150th anniversary with a special archival recording from the inaugural season of our long-running Lyrics & Lyricists series in 1971 featuring the now legendary Stephen Sondheim who also shares our March 22nd birthday. This was Sondheim's first public talk and it's an illuminating one, telling stories and sharing his thoughts on lyrics and the craft of theatrical songwriting.
The program was recorded on May 2, 1971 in front of a live audience at The 92nd Street Y, New York.
