Deborah Gross, LMSW, is thrilled to join the PCSA team as its new Director of Community Care and Outreach and brings over 30 years of experience in the field of aging to the position. As a graduate of Barnard College with a BA in Sociology, Deborah then received her MSW from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University in 1993. She has devoted the entirety of her professional career to community-based programs for older adults, with the focus on providing comprehensive supports which enable people to age with grace and dignity.
For the last six years, she served as the Director of the Center for Aging in Place at the YM and YWHA of Washington Heights and Inwood, ensuring that frail older adults, including Holocaust survivors in the community, had access to a wide range of services they needed to remain safely in their homes. However, she spent almost 20 years of her career specializing in providing support to clients with varying stages of dementia and their caregiving family members through strength-based programming and support groups.
Deborah is the proud mother to two wonderful young adults. Her favorite pastime is singing — whether it is through community theater productions, performing with her band at various venues throughout the tri-state area, and especially singing old classic standards with her clients!
