The Living Earth Show: Lyra

“Mesmerizing”

San Francisco Chronicle

The myth of Orpheus and Eurydice is reimagined in this hauntingly beautiful collaborative production from the experimental San Francisco-based guitar/percussion duo The Living Earth Show and contemporary dance company Post:ballet.

In a breathtaking synthesis of ambient live music and dance filmed in the stunning landscapes of the California desert, Lyra is a transportive interdisciplinary experience reflecting on themes of love, loss, trust, and fallibility – and what they can illuminate about some of today’s urgent issues.

Artistic Direction: Vanessa Thiessen, Benjamin Tarquin, Robin Drekkers
Music: Samuel Adams
Musicians: Travis Andrews (guitars), Andy Meyerson (percussion)
Choreography: Vanessa Thiessen
Cinematography: Benjamin Tarquin
