Brought to 92NY by the Institute of Global Politics (IGP) at Columbia SIPA, LinkedIn co-founder, bestselling author, and IGP Carnegie Distinguished Fellow, Reid Hoffman and former U.S. Secretary of State and IGP Faculty Advisory Board Chair Hillary Rodham Clinton will have a conversation about our AI future. Drawing from his new book Superagency, co-authored with Greg Beato, Hoffman explores how AI can amplify human potential and agency, be it through personalized education that helps every child excel; medical breakthroughs in the fight against Alzheimer’s and cancer; and much more.

Secretary Clinton brings her unique perspective on how transformative technologies can be leveraged to advance human rights and strengthen democratic institutions. Together, they’ll explore what policies and partnerships can help us realize AI’s benefits while mitigating risk, ensuring we shape an AI future that works for everyone.

An accomplished entrepreneur, executive, and investor, Reid Hoffman has played an integral role in building many of today’s leading consumer technology businesses. In 2003 he co-founded LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional networking service and in 2009 he joined Greylock as a partner. In 2022, Hoffman co-founded Inflection AI, an AI studio that created Pi.

He currently serves on the boards of Aurora, Coda, Entrepreneur First, Microsoft, Nauto, and a few early stage companies still in stealth. In addition, he serves on a number of not-for-profit boards, including Kiva, Endeavor, CZ Biohub, New America, Berggruen Institute, Opportunity@Work, the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered AI, and the MacArthur Foundation’s Lever for Change. He is the host of two award-winning podcasts — Masters of Scale, where iconic business leaders share strategies that have helped them grow, as well as Possible, a podcast that sketches out the brightest version of the future— and what it will take to get there.

He is the co-author of five bestselling books: The Startup of You, The Alliance, Blitzscaling, Masters of Scale, and Impromptu. He is an Aspen Institute Crown Fellow, a Marshall Scholar at Oxford, and a graduate of Stanford University.

Hillary Rodham Clinton has spent over five decades in public service as an advocate, attorney, First Lady, U.S. Senator, U.S. Secretary of State, and presidential candidate. As 67th U.S. Secretary of State, her “smart power” approach to foreign policy repositioned American diplomacy and development for the 21st century. Clinton played a central role in restoring America’s standing in the world, reasserting the United States as a Pacific power, imposing crippling sanctions on Iran and North Korea, responding to the Arab Awakening, and negotiating a ceasefire in the Middle East. Earlier, as First Lady and Senator for New York, she traveled to more than 80 countries as a champion of human rights, democracy, and opportunities for women and girls; she also worked to provide health care to millions of children, create jobs, and support first responders who risked their lives at Ground Zero. In her historic 2016 campaign for President of the United States, Clinton won 66 million votes. She is the author of eleven bestselling books, host of the podcast You and Me Both, founder of the global production studio HiddenLight Productions, a producer of the Broadway musical Suffs, Chancellor of Queen’s University Belfast, and a Professor of Practice at the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University where she co-founded the Institute of Global Politics. She and former U.S. President Bill Clinton have one daughter, Chelsea, three grandchildren: Charlotte, Aidan, and Jasper, and reside in New York.
