Become an American Red Cross Swimming Instructor.
This class will take place through Blended Learning, Zoom, and two in-person days. You will receive instructions after registration.
In order to become a Water Safety Instructor you must complete the precourse skills, attend all classes, participate and be prepared for the four teach-back assignments and score at least an 80% on the final written exam. All class participants must arrive on time, have homework assignments finished and ready for review each day of class and receive feedback from fellow classmates with maturity and an open-mind.
The Blended Learning course is 30 hours long based on 6 students. This class includes an on-line portion that must be completed prior to the first day of class. Participants must complete all 30 hours to be eligible for certification.
There is an American Red Cross fee of $35 that must be paid to the American Red Cross that is in addition to the 92NY fee for the course. Once you register for the class with 92NY you will be emailed a link to the American Red Cross where you will be walked through the registration steps and asked to pay the fee. You will also be able to complete the on-line portion of the course with this link.
