  • 2B, 4B and 6B graphite pencils.
    • Recommended brands: Derwent, Faber Castel, Prismacolor, Staedtler, Tombow
    • do not buy Blick brand pencils they are inferior
  • Soft Vine Charcoal
  • Pad of Paper: 14" x 17" 
  • Staedtler Plastic eraser
  • Kneaded eraser
  • Tombow MONO zero elestomer erasers, sizes 2.5 x 5mm and 2.3mm (optional)
  • soft vine charcoal
  • soft black charcoal pencils
  • sanguine or red chalk stick or pencil form
Supply List for Susan Cottle’s Class:

All media are welcome: conté, charcoal, ink, watercolor.

  • Graphite pencils: 2H, HB 2B, 4B, 6B 8B
  • Color pencils: I like soft water-soluble Caran d’ache Museum or Supracolor
  • ballpoint or felt tip pens
  • White drawing paper for quick poses: Canson Blue Cover Mixed Media Pad is widely available and good for both simple wet and dry media. 11x14 is a good size for pencil drawings
  • Other Paper: For colored pencil and/or wash, I like Stonehenge fawn, pearl gray sheets or mixed colors pad 11x14
  • For col. Pencil with no water, larger size toned paper are good options: Strathmore mixed media gray, Murano
  • By the sheet or Canson Mi-Tientes
  • Kneaded eraser
  • Mars Plastic or Pink Pearl eraser
  • Mono zero retractable eraser for detail
  • Exacto knife and/ or pencil sharpener
  • Brush: #12, #6 Mimik Kolinksy (Jerry’s) or similar soft synthetic brushes
  • Cup for water
  • Paper towels
