Multiple Approaches to Enameling

Supply List

Unleaded enamels are supplied in class.

  • 2-3 fine sable brushes (e.g. one each: # 0, #00; #000)
  • 1 Flat ½” – 1” brush
  • An old toothbrush
  • A sharp tool for sgraffito. (e.g. a fine-pointed scriber - available at the hardware store - is best, but a needle will do.)
  • Small Scissors
  • Fine-pointed tweezers
  • 6” x 6” mica sheet (available at Metalliferous or Allcraft)
  • Containers for enamels. (Suggestions: tiny plastic toy cups; round, stacking fishing tackle containers; mini-tupperware cups; any other small plastic or foil containers in which enamels can be mixed)
  • Pencil and paper and design ideas
  • 18 gauge copper (6” x 6”)
  • 18 gauge copper discs or squares (2”– 4”)
USEFUL, but OPTIONAL:
  • Jeweler’s saw frame and blades.
  • Silver (FINE only)
