Collage & Mixed Media (Intermediate)

Wennie Huang and Carla Aurich’s Supply List:
- 9" x 12" or 11" x 14" Bristol Board Pad
- X-acto type knife with a supply of blades
- Cutting mat (12” x 18”)
- 1 pair of good scissors
- 12” or 18” metal ruler with cork or rubber backing
- Assorted Pencils-hard and soft grade White plastic eraser (Staedtler)
- Glue Stick (permanent is better than washable)
- A firm, hard rubber roller or brayer (3”, 4” max.)
- 2 foam brushes—1-2”
- Inexpensive bristle or synthetic brush, 1” and 2” for glue and painting
- Black Sharpies Markers-thin and thick tips
- Inexpensive acrylic paints in red, blue, yellow and white (2 or 4 oz. tubes) (optional: any additional assortment of colors)
- An assortment of brushes
- Bone Folder
- Golden Soft Matte Medium 8oz
- Please collect assorted materials to be used in mixed media projects; paper, fabric, envelopes, old books that can be cut up, ribbon, magazines, cardboard, packaging etc. (including old collages you are willing to cut up/rework)
Julia Norton's Supply List:
- Assortment of thick, white watercolor paper or cardstock (9x12” preferred)
- X-acto type knife with a supply of blades
- Cutting mat (12” x 18”)
- 1 pair of good scissors
- Glue sticks
- Elmers glue or Lineco PVA Glue
- Acrylic matte medium (8 oz.)
- Inexpensive bristle or synthetic brush, 1” or 2” for glue and painting
- Smaller brushes (for details)
RECOMMENDED (but not required):
- Foam brushes—1-2”
- Acrylic or watercolor paint
- Colored pens and pencils
- A straight cutting edge such as a ruler
- Assorted materials to be used in mixed media projects; paper, fabric, envelopes, old books that can be cut up, ribbon, magazines, cardboard, packaging etc. (including old collages you are willing to cut up/rework) - A selection of color or printed papers (such as origami paper, colored paper, Japanese paper, patterned or construction paper - many stores will sell mixed packs of papers that are fun to use. For a range of exotic papers, I recommend ordering from Hiromi Paper or Talas.
- A pack of wood panels, in any size you wish, however 8x10” or 9x12” are recommended.

REQUIRED:
- Magazines
- glue stick (permanent)
- Elmer’s glue (not the washable "school" one but the permanent one)
- scissors
- Bristol board (9x12 or 11x14 size, or whatever other size you prefer)

- brush to apply glue (a cheap 1’’ flat chip brush from a hardware store or any paintbrush about 1’’ wide)
