Surfaces and Supports
  • Newspaper to protect table
  • Cutting Surface: Small-med self healing mat or piece of pressed cardboard to cut on
  • A Quality Paper of your choice as: bristol, stonehenge, 80 lb white bond, watercolor paper if you will use much water. Size of your choice. I like 11x14, and tape off for smaller drawings.
  • Tracing paper
  • Cups for water
  • Black or dark colored paper or scratchboard. Any found papers, and old drawings, rubbings, magazine, newspapers, books pages, cardboard, packaging etc.
  • Palette is optional. Only if you will use paint. (ceramic, tin or plastic or palette paper)
Adhesives
  • glue Stick (permanent is better than washable)
  • Stronger archival glue as Pva, matte medium or Yes.
  • low Cups for water and glue
  • Optional: airdryer to speed up dry time
Cutting and Measuring
  • pair of good scissors
  • X-acto knife with blade
  • triangle -small is fine
  • metal ruler, preferably with a cork or foam backing
Your choice of wet and dry media and brushes
  • Dry Media: Pencils- hard and soft graphite pencils (2H, HB, 4B, 6B)
  • White pen, pencil , conte or china marker
  • Pens: Water-soluble or permanent felt tip pens as sharpies or a brush pen. (thin, thick)
  • Erasers: White plastic eraser rectangular or small retractable mono-zero rectangular, kneaded eraser
  • Wet Medium of your choice: as water-soluble color pencils or pens, Ink, Watercolor, gouache colors (or thinned acrylic). Limited colors are good: Stay with neutral brown and/or black and white, or add (primary) colors
  • Brushes: Inexpensive synthetic flat
  • Optional: Any other dry or wet media of your choice as conte, colored pencil, charcoal, crayons, pastel
