Where is camp?

Our day camp takes place on our beautiful, 50-acre campground in Pearl River (Rockland County), New York, and is only a 20-minute drive from the George Washington Bridge. Take a virtual, 360-degree tour of our camp.

How do campers get there?

We transport campers in air-conditioned Academy Coach Buses with seat belts and restrooms onboard. There are several centralized pickup locations throughout Manhattan. We accommodate the needs of working parents with drop-off times as early as 8 am, and pickups as late as 5:45 pm.

Are the bus location and trip supervised?

Absolutely. We believe the camp day begins on the bus. Our staff greets campers at the bus location and accompanies them on the round-trip ride to the campground. We sing songs and play games along the way.

What's a typical day at camp like?

Campers enjoy a daily program designed around their age, needs, interests and abilities. They all participate in a wide range of activities, including two daily swim sessions (instructional and recreational), and three or four group activity periods where options include soccer, basketball, ceramics, archery, fine arts, music, a visiting artist series, and much more. Tell me about your swim program.

All campers swim twice each day. The first swim period is devoted to Red Cross-certified swim instruction, and the second is a free swim. We have three large in-ground pools, two of which are designated as teaching pools for beginning and intermediate swimmers. Children are evaluated in the first week during the instructional swim session, and placed in an appropriate swim group. The pools are staffed by water safety instructors and certified American Red Cross lifeguards.

What special programming do you offer older Yomi campers?

Two afternoons each week, third- and fourth-grade campers enjoy a specialized activity of their choice, called Yomi-lectives. The list of available Yomi-lectives is sent to families in the spring. We offer a variety of sports, arts and special interest electives.

Each Friday, we have a musical Shabbat celebration where we celebrate our weekly achievements and look forward to resting in anticipation of realizing next week’s potential!
