She has invested in schools, fixed 20,000 miles of Michigan roads, and expanded reproductive freedom in Michigan following the Dobbs decision. And she guided her state through the worst of the pandemic, putting the needs of Michiganders first.

She’s faced intimidation, harassment, even life-threatening plots. She led through a global crisis and stood firm when it would have been easier to back down. Along the way, she learned how to meet cruelty and bullies head-on, how to not lose your sense of humor or your compassion, and how to keep pushing until something actually gives.

For too long, young people have been told we’ll “shape the future” someday — well, the world is on fire, and we can’t afford to wait. Our ideas, our courage, and our urgency are needed right now.
