We are excited to welcome new string, wind, and piano members to the 92NY School of Music’s Friday Morning Chamber Music Reading!
Participants will sight read and work on music from the Classical repertoire in an informal, supportive and friendly environment. A performance will follow the spring semester for those who wish to perform. If you have questions about this program, please email the 92NY School of Music. All instruments and levels welcome.

Ruth Albert Spencer is a graduate of the Mannes College of Music. Her major teachers include Frank Sheridan, Carl Schacter and Leopold Mannes. She did her graduate work at Queens College (CUNY). Prof. Spencer is on the Music Dept. faculties of the City Univ. of New York and the 92nd Street Y. She is a recipient of a NY Council on the Humanities Grant, enabling her to give lectures on the relationship of Chopin and George Sand and to perform his music. Prof. Spencer has authored two books on Music Education and many articles, including one in Clavier on the Chopin Preludes. Ruth is proud to ...

Ruth is proud to have been a volunteer at Ground Zero for 9 months, and during that time she gave two solo piano recitals for rescue workers at St. Paul's Chapel.
